LOK City of London Race Sunday 16 September 2018

As part of the City Race 2018 programme, with this middle distance urban orienteering event being the culmination of three days of orienteering in London.

Classes & courses

  • All 3 races across the weekend will offer the same classes, but that we will not link the classes to specific courses (for any of the Weekend’s 3 races) until nearer the time when entries close, so that we can see the likely numbers on each course.
  • Currently, we have 7 draft courses planned ranging between 4.4km and 1.5km (measured in straight lines, so competitors (other than the most junior course) will actually run a good bit further.


Timings have been set to allow those with long journeys home to experience a third day of orienteering in London, and still get home the same day!

  • Registration open: 09:00
  • Starts: 10:00 – 12:00.


  • Entries are open at SIEntries.
  • Entry on the day available.
  • SPORTident (SI) timing will be used.
  • Controls will be SIAC (“touch-free” punching)

Terrain and Map

  • The terrain is urban .. pavements, road crossings, alleyways and small parks
  • Map will be at a scale of 1:4,000; printed on A4 waterproof paper
  • Extract of part of the area
  • There is no meaningful climb on any course.

  • Entrance will be signed from Torrington Square, just to east of Mallet Street
  • Nearest car postcode is WC1E 7HX
  • Nearest underground Stations are Euston Square and Goodge Street, with Euston mainline station only 10 minutes on foot
  • Sunday parking allows free parking around the area .. try Mallet Street first as it’s quiet
