<p><strong>Thursday 23rd February &#8211; Stanmore</strong></p>
<p>The fifth event of the series sees a visit to Stanmore in L.B. Harrow&#8230;. at the end of the Jubilee Line, and no-doubt one or two hills to run up!  Full details can be found <a title="details for Stanmore event" href="http://www.happyherts.org.uk/files/events/stanmore_23_02_12.pdf" target="_blank">here</a>.</p>
<p>All are welcome to attend, with entries starting at just £1.</p>
<p>There&#8217;s only one event after this, starting from <a title="North London Street O 2011/12" href="http://londonorienteering.co.uk/events/north-london-street-o-201112/">Hampstead/Gospel Oak</a> &#8230; then we&#8217;ll be crowning the top man and woman of the series &#8230; are you in with a chance &#8230; see the<a title="League tables" href="http://chig.org.uk/street-o/streetleague2011-12/" target="_blank"> league tables here</a>.</p>

<p>LOKs plans are in full swing for organising a Middle Distance race as part of the four-day Jubilee Weekend.  The event will be held on the Bank Hoilday Monday  (4th June). <h2><strong>South East League &#8211; after Northaw event</strong></h2>
<p>The results from the HH event at Northaw are in, and LOK move up the Division 1 table thanks to scoring in EVERY age category!</p>

<p>Plans are being made for another &#8216;olympic&#8217; set of races in 2012!  For now, just reminisce on those that happened in 2011 by visiting  <a href="http://www.parkrace.org/">www.parkrace.org</a>.</p>
<h2><strong><a href="http://londonorienteering.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Compass.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-578" title="Compass" src="http://londonorienteering.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Compass.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="100" /></a>Weekend training: Sat 19th &#8211; Sun 20th May 2012</strong></h2>
<p>LOK is organising a weekend of orienteering training with an overnight stay on Saturday 19th May, possibly at the <a href="http://www.yha.org.uk/find-accommodation/south-east-england/hostels/tanners-hatch/index.aspx" target="_blank">Tanners Hatch </a>Youth Hostel Association (YHA) hostel near Polesden Lacey in Surrey. The details have yet to be decided but there will be running orienteering training on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, and possibly a night orienteering event.</p>
<p>Accommodation and programme details will be confirmed when there is a clearer idea of numbers. Children are welcome and will need parental supervision. Ian Bullock is organising the event -please send Ian an <a href="mailto:ianpbullock@gmail.com">email </a>if you are interested, with as accurate a statement of numbers and ages as possible. If you have any ideas for training courses or exercises then feel free to forward them on.<strong> </strong></p>
<h2><strong>Trent Park Boxing Day Event<br />
</strong></h2>
<p><span style="font-family: Georgia; color: #333333;" lang="EN-GB">The Trent Park Boxing Day Score Event in <span style="color: #333333;">North London was organised by LOK in conjunction with the Happy Herts club. Results can be downloaded here: </span><a title="Trent Park results" href="http://londonorienteering.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/Trent_Park_2011_results.pdf" target="_blank">results</a> /<a title="Trent Park results with split times" href="http://londonorienteering.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/Trent_Park_2011_results_with_splits.pdf" target="_blank">results with split times</a>.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Georgia; color: #333333;" lang="EN-GB"><span style="font-family: Georgia; color: #333333;" lang="EN-GB"><span style="color: #333333;">A ‘score’ event entails running to as many controls on the map as possible within 60 minutes. You decide which controls to visit and in which order, with the knowledge that different controls score different point values (10, 20 or 30 points).
