The October Fitzrovia StreetO event is still available but you won’t score points in the 2020-21 Street League.
You’ll need to use the MapRunF app with your smart phone (or MapRunG with your GPS watch).
You’ll find the event in the folder UK-London North-StreetO. The start/finish is at the intersection of Marylebone Road and Baker Street, opposite Baker Street underground station and outside the Globe public House. But note that the pub is not the venue and has no involvement with the event. Nearest post code: NW1 5JY What3words: cuts.files.runner
You may well prefer to print a copy of the map.
Just go towards the start, tap “Go to Start” in the app, and when you hear the bleep, your time starts!
You have 60 minutes to score as many points as possible. Each control is worth the first digit of the code times 10 points (e.g. 27 is worth 20 points). You lose 30 points for each minute (or part minute) over 60 minutes.
Hi-viz or light coloured clothing for extra visibility is strongly advised and be very careful crossing roads. Also be considerate of pedestrians and maintain social distancing. Competitors under age 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Competitors are encouraged to complete the event in daylight hours to ensure access to all parks and gardens.
Thanks to Elaine Battson for planning and checking the course.
If you definitely went to the location of a control but couldn’t get MapRun to register it, you can subsequently use the HITMO (Hey I think the GPS Missed One) option on the Results page to insert it. Your trace will show whether you were actually there!
